## Coalition Neutralizes Cruise Missile Over Riyadh Area

The Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen announced on Saturday, November 7, 2026, that its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile launched toward the Riyadh area. Coalition spokesperson Turki al-Malki stated that the missile was fired by the Houthi movement, though the announcement did not specify where the projectile was intercepted, its intended objective within the wider capital area, or any damage or casualties.

In a competing claim, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree asserted that the group conducted six operations deploying ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. Saree claimed these strikes targeted King Khalid International Airport and oil facilities in Riyadh, Khurais, and Dawadmi, as well as a military site in Najran, alongside positions in Yemen's Al-Jawf and Marib governorates.

## Expanded Cross-Border Threat and Air Defense Activity

The Riyadh interception followed several aerial defense engagements reported across Saudi Arabia. Coalition authorities reported destroying an unidentified drone in the Mecca administrative region, while also reporting the destruction of a ballistic missile fired toward the Medina region and another drone intercepted over the oil-producing Eastern Province. Houthi officials denied targeting Medina, maintaining that their cross-border operations focus strictly on military sites and oil infrastructure.

The cross-border missile attempt occurred against a backdrop of intensified fighting across multiple provinces in Yemen, including Taiz, Lahj, Marib, and Al-Jawf. Yemeni government armed forces reported carrying out 875 targeting operations supported by combat aircraft, armed drones, and artillery against Houthi forces, as hostilities renewed following years of relative calm.
